Job Summary:

Sunflower Child Care Center in Lewisburg is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Full-Time Classroom Floater to care for and nurture children in a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities, safety, and well-being of children in their care, ensuring a positive and enriching experience for each child.  We are currently offering a $645 sign-on bonus!*

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times.

• Implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and intellectual development as needed.

• Assist with basic hygiene, including diapering, toileting, and handwashing.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly environment.

• Communicate effectively with parents or guardians about daily activities, behaviors, and any concerns in person and using the Brightwheel app.

• Provide emotional support and encouragement to foster self-esteem and independence.

• Administer basic first aid when necessary and respond to emergencies appropriately.

• Enforce rules and manage behavior using positive discipline techniques.

 

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred).

• Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

• At least 2 years’ experience in childcare or early education settings.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children.

• Background check and references required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 30+ lbs.

• Ability to sit on the floor, stand, and move quickly in response to children’s needs.

• Indoor and outdoor activity participation is required.

Hourly Wage & Benefits:

• At least $15 per hour (commensurate on experience); bi-weekly pay schedule

• Paid personal/sick and vacation time off after a successful 90-day probationary period

• Approximately 15 paid holidays throughout the year (eligible after probationary period)
